The Brutus Fund

Small Animal Veterinary Emergency Services (SAVES) created the Brutus Fund in memory of a Great Dane named Brutus whose owner had died leaving Brutus alone in the world. Brutus stayed with his owner until they were discovered, and was brought to SAVES to be cared for until other family members could be found. Relatives soon adopted Brutus, but he died the next day of GDV. Brutus touched all that knew him for the short time he stayed with us.

The Brutus Fund is available to help families with short term financial issues that can not afford lifesaving care for their  pet in an emergency. Recipients of the fund are asked to contribute back when their financial situation changes so that someone else can take advantage of this service.

If you would like to donate to The Brutus Fund, please contact us at 603.306.0007.

Long Trail Canine Rescue

Long Trail Canine Rescue (LTCR) is devoted to supporting overcrowded shelters by helping to minimize the need to euthanize adoptable dogs.

Through rescue, rehabilitation and placement of unwanted and/or abandoned pets into permanent, suitable homes throughout the Northeast, LTCR offers a new chance for a positive ending.

SAVES provides rescue dogs with free or discounted emergency services. We are proud to be a part of this great new program.

Pets offer so much to all of us, the human-animal bond is an extremely strong connection. For hospice patients the comfort of a pet, the unconditional love they feel for their owner, and companionship gives them the strength to greet each new day.
