Doctors at SAVES
General

We asked Dr. Ruth McDevitt, our Medical Director, and Wil MacAllister, our Hospital Director, to tell us a little bit about the doctors here at SAVES. Here's what they had to say:
"Our team of doctors are truly committed to serving the community and care deeply about the outcome of their patients. We often catch them following up on their patients well after their shifts are over. Daily, we see them thanking and recognizing their support staff for work well done. Our doctors genuinely care about their co-worker’s well-being in and out of the workplace.
Each of our doctors had a unique path to arriving at SAVES, but they all fell in love with the Upper Valley and have chosen to stay and call it their home. We are proud to have gathered a team of such seasoned ER doctors that are well-versed in common emergency conditions. The team can easily and confidently assess patients and prepare plans quickly and efficiently. All doctors on staff are comfortable with common surgical procedures we see, including enterotomy, resection and anastomosis, GDV, cystotomy, and splenectomy. They are very comfortable with ER procedures such as thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis, chest tube placement, trauma stabilization, etc. Because of this level of comfort with ER cases, our doctors are ready and able to share that knowledge with the technical staff and work hard to create a cohesive team environment. There is an excellent rapport between doctors and the level and standards of medicine are shared among us all. This group of doctors is dedicated to emergency medicine and sustaining a positive culture that emphasizes learning and support for our technical staff."
Over the next few months, we'll feature our fantastic doctors on social media so you can get to know them better. Make sure to follow us on Facebook here!
