Nell grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and did her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina.  She then lived in Santiago, Chile for a year before coming back to the US to attend veterinary school at Cornell.

Nell worked in general practice in Vermont for five years before deciding to pursue emergency medicine full time.  After a brief stint in Colorado, she decided to settle back in the upper valley with her family.  She considers herself a lifelong learner and has enjoyed completing in-depth continuing education courses on point-of-care ultrasound, CPR, and soft tissue surgery.   She most enjoys all things internal medicine, as well as wound care and foreign body surgery.  

She shares her home with her husband, two small children, a beloved English Setter, and a very sassy cat.  In her free time you can find her biking on the region's beautiful dirt roads, watching Tar Heel basketball, or enjoying the outdoors with her family.
