Dr. Ruth McDevitt is originally from southeast Idaho. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Oregon, prior to attending Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she completed a rotating small animal internship with an emphasis in emergency medicine at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Dr. McDevitt has a special interest in trauma and transfusion medicine.

Away from the hospital, she enjoys cooking, reading, and hiking with her mutt named Pancakes.
